Hi! My Name Is...

Workin Hard, Tryin To Get That Rich~

In the morning I actually let Sydney grill some fruit.  No one had done us a favor and made something that we could sponge off... so there you go.
Anyway, she enjoyed it.
From there it was just a whole lotta collecting, bathroom breaks, and chit chats.
I wanted to continue with my plan to make connections for her.  I think we stayed at the park for a good 3 or 4 days, just collecting and harvesting.  Oh, and breeding those wonderful frogs.
Somedays we got really lucky, both with the collectables and with food. Truth is, my little homeless sim was NOT hurting for money in the least.
By the time I got the first message that she had bills to pay...  ( O_o ) She had a little more than $3000 saved up.  I hadn't bothered to take her back to her home lot, because... well... why bother.  Instead, she slept at the park.

The routine consisted of getting her cleaned up, harvesting/collecting, and then taking her to her friends houses to put in the necessary hours to get those plants to bloom.

I took her to Gavin's place, where she became much better friends with him as well as Zoe. She also met their other roommates - J and that other dude who I can never seem to remember.  O_o They hung out. Someone made food.  She used their facilities...  You can only stay at a friends place for a max of 5 hours... so Sydney made the most of her time.
Over those first few days she visited everyone she made friends with.  Summer Holiday (which sounds like a strippers name) Through Summer she met and became
friends with Travis and Liberty.

Some where is the neighborhood she also met Nancy Landgraab.  Who shows up EVERYWHERE. That lady gets around!

She also met Johnny ... can't remember his last name.  But he lives in Oasis Springs (the trailer lookin' house) in the only neighborhood that you can get tomatoes.

Of course, everywhere she went she was collecting whatever harvestables she could, digging, fishing and catching frogs. She hit the jackpot in that area. She managed to find 2 Whirlyflower Frogs, which are a whopping $160 each!  Kept those two babies in her inventory too, so she was making a steady income from breeding either the Whirlyflower or Sunsurfer Frogs.

Life was going pretty well for Sydney.

Like I said, the first time I took her home was to pay the bills. (Can't use the phone for anything until you get half the aspiration done.)
So while she was there, I went ahead and purchased 2 planter boxes since she had over $3000.  After she started her home garden, there wasn't any reason to stick around, so I took her to the Willow Creek park and set up camp there.

She spent a few days there, doing the usual.  And in between doing some odd jobs to get some of her other skills going.
A little fishing, a little chess.
She ran into some of her friends while she was living at the park.  And while she was there, she met and became friends with another sim, I believe her name is Roxana.  This one isn't connected to a neighborhood.  I think she's homeless like my girl Sydney.
Actually, playing as a Homeless sim, kinda makes you really aware of all the other homeless sims that are knockin around your game.
And they range in ages too! Kids through Elders.
Kinda sad really.

Art, imitating Life...  :(

I found myself wanting to put tents all over the place, and install showers and fridges on all public lots...

Of course, this would be against the rules.... so I didn't.  But I WANTED too.

Introduction

The Sims 4 Homeless Challenge

The Homeless Challenge has been around for a while. If you google it, you are probably going to find a link to ModtheSims.
However.... the "rules" listed there ... well... they're more like guidelines.

BUT!  There is a YouTuber by the name of Jonathan Alexander .. (You can find his channel HERE, which is called Jae), that has started the Homeless Challenge as a LP. (Which you can see HERE)  He created more rules... Many more rules.  :}

You can find his rules HERE

This won't be a story like my Legacy Challenge.
This is simply sharing my sim Sydney's journey, from $500... to $100,000~

Sydney Fields
Aspiration: Freelance Botanist
Traits: Creative, Outgoing (bought), Loves the Outdoors (bought)(Wasn't sure if she was only allowed to have one trait starting off, so when she saved up, I paid for the other 2 traits and added them to her.  Used the "cas.fulleditmode" cheat to give them to her. Used the "money" cheat to pay for them.)

I reused 7 items. (Tank Top, Shorts, Skirt, Underwear, Long Sleeved Shirt, Hat, and Flats.)  I'm a chick!  There is NO way I could handle seeing poor Sydney in the SAME outfit over, and over again.  This was going to be hard enough... I mean when was she going to wear her Formal wear and Party wear??
~♥~

I moved her to Potters Splay, reduced her money to $500 (using the "money" cheat. )

And after some serious thought, I decided on buying her a tent to start her off. Which left her with ... $80.  >_<  YEESH!!

After packing up the tent I decided to take Sydney to the Desert Bloom Park in Oasis Springs.  There are tons of Dig spots in this area.  As well as several fishing spots ... add to that, someone usually ends up grilling something to nibble on.  There are also some little hidden areas that look like the kind of place you could pitch a tent and not draw attention.
My plan for Syd, was to hang out here for a few days.  As everyone who plays Sims 4 knows, it takes a while for plants to mature and become harvestable.

Anyway!

Sydney started out by doing a little fishing.  All her motives were pretty freakin' good at this point.  Though, she was gonna need to socialize pretty soon.

The fishing however, was a little beyond her at the moment.  She didn't catch a thing.  I was going to have her try again when I saw a familiar sim walking past the park.  Zoe Patel.  I had Sydney go introduce herself.
As the rules go, you can't visit someone's house unless your sim is friends with them.  My plan.  Befriend Zoe.  I want Syd to have a friend in each of the neighborhoods so she has somewhere to go, hang out, have a little wash up - while giving all the plants in the area time to grow.  Yah feel me?  :} Sneaky!
Funny enough, the moment Syd introduced herself to Zoe, Zoe asked her to watch clouds...

O_o Ummmm... OK Zoe....  Ya Freak.
But hey, they were socializing and having fun at the same time!!
Unfortunately, Zoe had to take off before they became friends.  >_<
Dang it!

It's all good.  Sydney was getting hungry anyway.  Sure enough, a quick check of the area, and it turned out some generous sim had made some Hamburgers~
Sweet!

By the time Syd had eaten, used the restroom, and gotten cleaned up.  It was starting to get dark. Some of the plants were growing.  There were dig spots all over the place - So I sent her out on her first walk-a-bout to gather as much as she could.  I gotta say... the girl has a golden horseshoe up her butt.  Some of the collectables she found right off the bat were worth quite a bit.  And then over the next couple days she found Metals like Romantium ($150), My Sims Trophy's like Zombie Carl ($130), Crystals like Plumbite ($160), and fossils like a Pre Pre Pre Sims Head ($225) ... she kinda hit the motherlode.  She also found 2 Sunsurfer Frogs.  I kept those babies in her inventory to breed.  1 Sunsurfer Frog is worth $125.

That first haul though, there were mainly just dig spots and frogs to collect. Didn't take to long, and just as she was finishing, I noticed another familiar sim. Gavin Richards. Zoe's roommate ...   or one of them anyway. :}  So I had Syd introduce herself and really knock those interactions out.  Gavin is also Creative. Plus he's just generally an easy going kinda guy.  They chatted for a little while, and in no time at all, they became friends.   Awwwwwww~

After this Sydney was getting pretty tired.  I got her to eat a couple of the harvestables she found just to top up her hunger and hit the washroom at the park one more time.
Hmmm... maybe not quite ready for bed.
A little stargazing to get her feeling inspired.
And then I had her take advantage of the guitar in the common area.  She's a creative sim.  It's better to give her something creative to do whenever possible so she doesn't get tense.

My theory is the more skills the better.  It gives them more to talk about with other sims, which means they gain friends more quickly.  Plus, if I build up that guitar skill a little, she can play at the lounge and make some tips!

After that... she was so tired I was afraid she was gonna pass out with her butt in the air...  O_O  So I quickly had her place the tent and hit the sack.
